Ryan Moore ’26 was elected to be the next president of Student Government, while Mike Noonan ’26 was voted to step in as vice president on Nov. 11, according to the Office of Student Engagement.
“I am thrilled for Ryan and I think he is going to do a fantastic job in this role,” said Morgan Anderson ’25, current president of Student Government. “I have really enjoyed getting to know him and watching his strengths and leadership abilities develop over the past two years, and I am confident that there is no better person for the job.”
“I ran for president because I believe in the importance of a community where every student feels genuinely heard and supported,” Moore told The Carroll News. “I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference it makes when Student Government listens and acts on what students need. My goal is to keep building on that, making sure that every student feels like they have a real voice in shaping their time here at John Carroll.”
Moore will keep demonstrating effective leadership and enhancing functions as president of Student Government by establishing high expectations for himself to accomplish.
“One of my main goals is to advocate for a higher minimum wage for student workers,” Moore said. “Students deserve to be fairly compensated for the work they do on campus.”
Moore continued, “But beyond that, I want to make sure Student Government is approachable, responsive and truly a part of the student community. Whether it’s addressing major issues or focusing on the smaller everyday things that impact us all, I’m committed to making Student Government a resource everyone can rely on.”
“I’m honored and incredibly excited that Mike [Noonan] will be taking over the vice presidency role,” said Mike White ’25, who is the current vice president. “I have gotten to know Noonan throughout the last year serving together on our executive board.”
White added, “He leads through grace [and] generosity and exemplifies what it means to be a servant leader. He embodies the mission of JCU with his servant leadership and desire to accompany his peers along their journey.”
“I ran for vice president to create positive change on campus through constant dialogue between students and administration,” Noonan told The Carroll News. “Furthermore, [Anderson] and [White] instilled the confidence in me to run for this position. Without their guidance, I would not be where I am today, and forever grateful to have had the opportunity to work with these two individuals this past year.”
Noonan’s goal as vice president is to be an example to his fellow JCU community members.“I want to be an effective representative of the student body through respectful communication with administrators,” he said. “Additionally, I will emphasize our Jesuit advantage and values as a university.”
