Each week The Carroll News sports section names five Blue Streak athletes “Streaks of the Week”. Congratulations to this week’s athletes on their outstanding performances.

Men’s Swimming and Diving: Junior, Matt Ramsey

  

 

It was a record-breaking weekend at the OAC Championships at the University of Akron, and Ramsey was among seven of them. The junior freestyle swimmer broke records individually in the 200 breaststroke, 100 freestyle, and 50 free. Additionally, Ramsey was apart of the record setting relays in the 200 free relay, 400 medley relay, 200 medley relay, and 400 free relay.

 

Men’s Swimming and Diving: Junior, Ryan McClelland

For the third consecutive season, McClelland won OAC Diver of the Year following winning the individual diving completion for the Blue and Gold. He finished with scoring total of 458.30 points on the 1-meter and 474.05 on the 3-meter board for the Blue Streaks.

 

Men’s Swimming and Diving: Freshman, Erik Sriubas

 

Sriubas stole the show this past weekend at the University of Akron for the Blue and Gold swimmers at the OAC Championships. The freshman individual medley/relay competitor won OAC Swimmer of the Year for his outstanding weekend.

 

Women’s Swimming and Diving: Sophomore, Gwyn Ledrick

The sophomore swimmer from Toledo, Ohio, was impressive as can be at the OAC Championships. Records were made to be broken and Ledrick shattered them in the 100 breast, 200 breast, and 200 individual medley. She also won OAC Swimmer of the Year.

 

Women’s Swimming and Diving: Senior, Chloe Ruggiero

Senior Chloe Ruggiero was named All-OAC after a second place finish in the 200 breaststroke at the OAC Championships with a time of 2:23.78. In addition she finished third in the 100 breast and fourth in the individual medley.
