Black Students in Action hosted a Tower Time this week in celebration of Black History Month, bringing students together for reflection, conversation and community. The event focused on recognizing Black history while also creating space for shared understanding across different backgrounds.
Senora Johnson ’29, who spoke during Tower Time, emphasized that Black History Month is not only about honoring the past but also about inclusion in the present. “This month is a chance to highlight all people and the ways our stories connect,” Johnson said. “When we celebrate Black history, we’re also celebrating the broader community and the values of respect and unity that come with it.”
The Tower Time event served as both a celebration and an educational moment, reinforcing the importance of acknowledging history while encouraging students to engage with one another in meaningful ways throughout Black History Month and beyond.
