Each week The Carroll News sports section names five Blue Streak athletes “Streaks of the Week”. Congratulations to this week’s athletes on their outstanding performances.
Football: Sophomore running back Mike Canganelli:
Canganelli rushed for 270 yards and three touchdowns against Baldwin Wallace on Nov. 10. Canganelli’s 270 rushing yards are the second most in any single game in JCU history. He has now totaled 16 rushing touchdowns this season.
Men’s Soccer: Senior goalkeeper, Liam McIntosh
On Saturday, Nov. 10 in round one of the NCAA Tournament against Penn State Abington, McIntosh earned his 29th career shutout, tying the most in JCU history. McIntosh finished his career as a Blue Streak with 53 wins, the most by any JCU goalkeeper.
Women’s Cross Country: Freshman, Cameron Bujaucius
Bujaucius placed 15th overall in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region Championships on Nov. 10. The freshman runner, Bujaucius, earned All-Region honors, qualifying for the 2018 NCAA Cross Country Championships. She also garnshed All-OAC honors on Oct. 27.
Men’s Cross Country: Junior, Kyle Monahan
Monahan finished in fourth place with a time of 25:09.4 at the 2018 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships on Nov. 10. The junior runner, Monahan, also qualified for the 2018 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Women’s Soccer: Sophomore defender, Hannah Brinning
Brinning earned 2018 All-OAC honorable mention for her tremendous season for the Blue and Gold. She started in 18 games, contributing to a Blue Streaks team that allowed three goals in the final four games.
