The women’s track and field team traveled to Otterbein on Saturday, Feb. 9, to compete in the All-Ohio Championships. JCU took seventh out of 18 teams, tallying up 54 team points. They were 10 points out from a top five finish.

“I knew once I got out of the blocks, my time was going to be pretty quick,” said Johnson. She also took third in the 200-meter and sixth in long jump.

In the 400-meter dash, senior Ashura Powell led the Blue Streaks, taking second with a sub-one minute time. Freshmen Autumn Hale and Mary-Clair Smeltzer finished within the top 10, taking eighth and ninth respectively.

Junior Kendall Miller was one second away from of a top 10 finish, taking 11th with a 1:01.30 time. Sophomore Amy Morris finished right behind Miller, taking 12th.

Other top 10 finishes included Lucia Cannata in sixth in the 200-meter dash and Junior Nikki Linn took 10th in high jump. Freshman Cameron Bujaucius finished sixth in the mile run,  with a time of 5:12.48. Junior Jamie Amoroso finished 12th and freshman Megan Casselberry finished 15th in the mile.
