A Visit To Letchworth State Park

Aiden Keenan

Earlier this month, I had one last outdoor adventure before the snow started falling. Near Buffalo, NY, I visited Letchworth State Park, which is also known as the Grand Canyon of the East. Thanksgiving is next week, Blue Streaks! Take some time for yourself and try to get outside if it’s not too snowy. Send any photos to Aiden Keenan, photo editor, at [email protected] to see them featured in The Carroll News.

The Genesee River flows underneath an old railway bridge, which spans the width of the canyon at Letchworth State Park.

As visitors hike the trails, they walk over bridges that cross small hills and valleys. These bridges can be high up.

A pair of old sunglasses lay abandoned on a sign about the Genesee Valley Canal and the bridges that run over it.

Visitors enjoy the view of the canal and the trees as the leaves change color and fall.

Enjoying time in nature with loved ones is always a good way to keep your mental health in check. Pictured above are Aiden Keenan ‘22 and Shannon Callaghan ‘22 spending time together at Letchworth State Park. Masks were worn but were removed to take this photograph. Stay safe, Blue Streaks!
