Luke Chicone (JCU Sports Information Department)

Men’s Basketball — Luke Chicone ‘25

Chicone has been sensational as of late for the Blue Streaks. The crafty sophomore point guard scored a career-high 29 points in a major road win over Heidelberg. He also scored 15 additional points in the following game against Marietta. In both games, the sophomore made three shots from beyond the arc, the only times he has done so this season.

Jaylen Hoffmann (JCU Sports Information Department)

Women’s Basketball — Jaylen Hoffmann ‘23

In what has been an up and down year for the Women’s Basketball team, Hoffmann has been a consistent force in her first year as the starting point guard. The senior, who was honored on Senior Day before the Marietta game, chipped in 11 points against Marietta marking her seventh double digit scoring effort of the season.

Men’s Track and Field — 4×400 Relay Team

The Blue Streaks’ 4×400 indoor relay team consisting of graduate student Garrett Clark, Caleb Correia ‘24, Dustin Horner ‘26 and Basheer Alramahi ‘26 had a weekend to remember at Ashland. The quartet not only broke a school record in the event (3:14.82) but they also rose to the top time in all of Division III this season.

Corey Minton (JCU Sports Information Department)

Men’s Track and Field — Corey Minton ‘23

Minton also had a great performance at Ashland as he won the triple jump with a mark of 14.03m. He competed against multiple jumpers from Division II schools and even the University of Windsor from the senior’s native Canada.

Caroline Beery (JCU Sports Information Department)

Women’s Track and Field — Caroline Beery ‘23

Beery has continued to showcase her talents in pole vault this indoor season as she finished in third with a mark of 3.51m at Mount Union. Last week, the senior broke her own school record in the event (3.56m) at Baldwin Wallace.
