Women’s Basketball
Ava Ryncarz ’26

Senior Ava Ryncarz, appearing and starting in 30 games this year, received a plethora of awards as she helped lead the Blue Streaks to the NCAA Division III NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament Round of 16. Although the Streaks fell to Ohio-rival #8 Denison, Ryncarz has a lot to be proud of. She was named as JCU’s fifth D3hoops.com All-American in program history, making Fourth Team. Ryncarz was also crowned as a WBCA Honorable Mention All-American and now holds the Single Season Three Point Record with 92 buckets. The senior holds 1,526 career points and will go down in Blue Streak Women’s Basketball history.
Women’s Track and Field
Dakota Houston ’28

Sophomore Dakota Houston is now a six-time All-American in her first two years at JCU. Houston raced in two finals at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, running the 200 meter dash in 24.23 seconds and the 60 meter dash in 7.65 seconds. The Beachwood, OH native also shattered two school records in the preliminary rounds, holding the 200 meter dash record with a time of 23.93 and the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.51. Houston placed fourth overall in the 200 meter dash and seventh overall in the 60 meter dash.
Men’s Track and Field
Basheer Alramahi ’26

Senior Basheer Alramahi also competed in the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, placing fourth overall in the 800 meter run with a time of 1.51.19. He was also part of the 4×400 team made up of Tyler Gast ’26, Tony Tirado ’27 and Dustin Horner ’26 that placed seventh overall in the Championships. Alramahi also received the Elite Scholar-Athlete award for the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. This is the second time in a row the senior has won the award, which is given to the athlete that has the highest cumulative GPA competing at the NCAA Championship. Aramahi, majoring in biology, holds a 4.0 GPA. The senior was also named an All-American for his 800 meter run performance.
Men’s Basketball
Luke Chicone ’26G

Graduate Student Luke Chicone is now the first player ever to be named an All-American twice by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). Chicone led the Blue Streaks to a NCAC tournament title, a spot in the NCAA Tournament and a Round of 64 victory. The Graduate Student also was named as a First-Team All-American, the first Blue Streak NABC All-District Player of the Year, as well as D3hoops.com All-Region 7 Co-Player of the Year. Chicone recorded career and program highs in points (710), assists (191) and steals (83).
Men’s Wrestling
Thomas Lunt ’26

Senior Thomas Lunt qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships after placing third at 285 pounds at the historic first NCAA Wrestling Regional at John Carroll. Lunt entered the 285-pound bracket with a record of 25-11. Although eliminated on the first day of the tournament, Lunt fought valiantly, finishing with a career record of 54-43. Lunt was also the Albion Open Champion earlier this year and placed sixth at the RIT Invitational.
