Seven Floors of Hell

A short, 30-minute drive away, Seven Floors of Hell has been top-rated and actually featured on the Travel Channel as well as in Fangoria Magazine. Each floor is unique, with its own attributes. Take, for example,“The Basement,” which is located in an old, abandoned house. The only element to help you find your way out of the old, damp basement is a tiny flashlight. There are plenty more spooky floors to keep you on your toes.

Bloodview Haunted House

Produced by one of the world’s oldest improvisational horror acting, makeup and special effects production companies, The Legion of Terror, this haunted house has been scaring customers for more than 35 years. According to the Ohio Haunted Houses website, it is more than just a haunted house, but a real experience. The website states, “From the moment you cross the archway, you will be surrounded by monsters. They interact with you, they hunt you, they entertain you.” If that isn’t enough, an added positive is that all profits go to charity.

Dates of Operation: Open every Friday and Saturday until Nov. 3.

General Admission: $20 per person, $25 fast pass, and $15 after 10 p.m.

Location: Broadview Heights, Ohio.

Haunted Schoolhouse and Labratory

This one-of-a-kind location is two haunted attractions in one. The three-floor journey through the haunted schoolhouse, led by the “librarian,” takes you right into the laboratory where a team of “scientists” works to contain a virus that turns people into zombies. This haunted house seems more like an escape room filled with puzzles, games and screams all around.

Dates of Operation: Open select Thursdays, and every Friday and Saturday until Nov. 3.

General Admission: Price varies depending on the day from $25-$30.

Chippewa Lake Slaughterhouse

A mysterious story about a spooky slaughterhouse, missing workers and a mutated creature surrounds this haunted house. It is located in a real slaughterhouse with professional actors and Hollywood-quality sets. Every year it changes, with new rooms being added as time goes on. If you are uncomfortable with actors touching you, then this location is for you. Actors will only brush up against the customers, however, they are trained not to touch or grab.

Hudson Haunted House

Self-proclaimed “Monster of all Haunted Houses,” the Hudson Haunted House is celebrating its 46th year this Halloween season. It is run by the Hudson Jaycees, a national volunteer organization dedicated to bringing entertainment to the local community. The workers are volunteers who are committed to scaring all participants in the best way possible. This location is one of the cheapest on the list, so if you are looking for a great scare for a great price, this haunted house is for you.

General Admission: $12 per person and $6 after 11 p.m.

Location: Hudson, Ohio.
