When it comes to naming the best breakfast pastry, donuts definitely take the cake. In Cleveland, these hole-y deserts are a specialty at local bakeries, especially these five local shops:

Goldie’s Donuts and Bakery

Now a Lyndhurst landmark, Goldie’s Bakery has been in business for over 20 years. Although their “specialty” donut is old-fashioned glaze, Goldie’s has a menu-full of options, including a special monthly flavor that acts as a fundraiser, as its earnings are donated to a local charity.

Peace Love and Little Donuts

For all the light eaters out there, Peace, Love and Little Donuts offers a lot of flavor in a bite-size donut. While the company has been around since 2009, it made its Cleveland debut only a few years ago. “Find your inner hippie” by visiting their West Park location here in CLE.

Jack Frosts Donuts

Made fresh daily with original recipes, Jack Frost has been a Cleveland staple for years. With flavors ranging from cereal to candy to chocolate pretzel, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Becker’s Donuts

After returning home from WWII in 1946, the Becker brothers opened one of the largest, most successful donut chains in Cleveland. Now 13 stores strong, Becker’s continues to wow Clevelanders with its original homestyle donuts, which include creme-filled, cake, yeast-raised and French cruellers.

Brewnuts

Widely known for its Instagram aesthetic and catchy slogan “donut mess with Cleveland,” Brewnuts has been extremely popular since its inception in 2017. While their flavors are considered “unconventional,” they continue to attract large morning crowds every week. It also helps that the company brews homemade coffee and beer.
