The John Carroll Women’s Tennis team took on a strong Division III opponent at the LaTuchie Tennis Center in Stow, Ohio on Sat., Feb. 11. Despite a few wins, the Blue Streaks were unable to defeat The College of Wooster, falling 7-2 and bringing their record to 0-2 for the season.

Although the Blue and Gold lost both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, they were able to secure a win at the No. 3 doubles spot. Jaclyn Voss ‘23 and Emily Duckett ‘23 made up quite the duo, earning an 8-3 victory against Wooster’s Abby Kushner Benson and Kim Nguyen.

Mia Zivkovic ‘24 gave an astounding effort and came out on top in the No. 1 singles match. The Broadview Heights native started the match strong, winning the first set 7-5 in a tiebreaker. Her opponent, Otilia Oita, fought back and took the second set 6-3. With the team match already decided, the two played a match tiebreaker, with Zivkovic coming out victorious 10-5.

The Blue Streaks will travel to Florida for their next match in early March.
