The award-winning Netflix series “Stranger Things” finally released an unexpected Season 3 trailer. The three-minute sneak peak is filled with action, fights, supernatural activity and, of course, the infamous demogorgon. “Stranger Things” fans can only hope that time will fly by so they can finally watch the new season.

All of the favorite characters make a return to the show, which is set in the midsummer of 1985. The trailer opens up with the crew surprising Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) as he comes home from camp. Things start out as a seemingly normal summer. We can see Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) hanging out at the mall, Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) and Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) seen in a grassy field, planting what seems to be an antenna, and scenes showing the kids hanging out at the pool, riding their bikes and more.

As it usually is with Hawkins, Indiana, things suddenly take a turn when we see a scene at the fair with gunman and the kids running around the hospital looking extremely disheveled. Fans can only wonder what caused all of the chaos. The trailer even shows some new types of monsters; demogorgon-looking rats. Demorats, maybe? More key characters make an appearance, such as Chief Hopper (David Harbour) and Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder).

The creators of “Stranger Things,” the Duffer brothers, also gave some insight as to what this season has to offer, based on the last episode of Season 2. “They’ve shut the door on the Mind Flayer, but not only is it still there in the Upside Down, it’s very much aware of the kids, and particularly Eleven,” the brothers stated to British magazine NME. “Now, it knows that she’s out there. We wanted to end on a little bit of an ominous note.”

Of course, with it being a show set in the 1980s, the trailer shows all of the neon tights, scrunchies and hairstyles. Not to mention the amazing song selection, which is “Baba O’Riley” by The Who, to get the fans going. There is also an added Fourth of July theme surrounding this season, with American flags and hot dogs to go around.

The “Stranger Things” Twitter account also shared exclusive photos that hint at what’s to come in the upcoming season, such as photos of Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery), the legendary bad boy, conversing with Karen Wheeler (Cara Buono), Mike’s mother, which one can only hope will stir up some juicy drama.

The greatly anticipated season comes out July 4. Fans will just have to impatiently wait a few more months until they can sink their teeth into some wicked, scary fun. Until then, both the previous seasons are available for binge watching on Netflix.
