Fall break is the extended weekend all Carroll students have been waiting for. After making it through a week of midterms, it is time to pack a bag and go home for the weekend.

If you cannot make it home this weekend, allow this Fall Break to be the chance to explore Cleveland. The vacancy of campus will offer you a chance to decompress from all the stress that the first half of the semester may have brought you and discover all the excitement Cleveland has to offer.

Rapper Diego Leanos, known as “Lil Xan,” is coming to the House of Blues on Friday, Oct.12. The tickets to see the show are affordable, starting as low as $15 for general admission.

“Walkabout” Historic Tremont

Every second Friday of the month, there is an opportunity to explore the “best of Tremont’s creative side.” From 5 -9 p.m. at the Tremont West Development Corporation, 2406 Professor Ave., immerse yourself in the unique culture of the area. There will be pop-up art, extended hours on shops, street performers and more.

The Cleveland Flea is hosting The October Flea on Saturday, Oct. 13. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is located at 3615 Superior Ave. Basic entry is only $2 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated. Come see and shop local vendors of the greater Cleveland area.

Cheer on the Browns

The Cleveland Browns have had a rough reputation in prior seasons. Even with a completely defeated season last year, true fans never lose hope. This year, the Browns are off to a strong start with a 2-2-1 record. Spend your Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium supporting the Browns as they face off against the 3-2 Los Angeles Chargers.

Located on Park Ave. in Orange Village, Pinecrest is Cleveland’s newest mixed-use district. It is an 80 acre metropolitan-styled plaza that can cover all your shopping, dining and entertainment needs. There are restaurants that are new to the area, such as Shake Shack, Bibibop and Graeter’s Ice Cream. Pinecrest also features the most on-trend retail stores and boutiques. It’s is a short drive from JCU and a perfect way to spend your weekend.
